Artist Portraits from the Pandemic

The Parrish Museum, 2020

In April 2020, the Parrish Art Museum reached out to more than 100 artists living on Long Island’s East End, asking them to contribute short videos about their work during the pandemic. In the visual responses, they speak of stifling angst and newfound productivity, canceled shows and fresh inspiration, and response to the pandemic through their work and by taking actions to show support. The project, an evolving and living record, is an important, new element of the Museum’s online archives that explore the legacy and current-day presence of artists of the region (parrishart.org/art-artists).
